System Requirments

Sterling software and database integration was designed from tools which are compatible with Microsoft 32 bit operating systems.  Window Server 2003 is recommended.

We recommend at least 2GB RAM and the largest hard drive you can find.   Windows 7 machines come standard with more RAM and larger hard drives than XP Machines.  Keep in mind that your using the computer for Business applications and that "Home" Editions will probably not work.   We recommend that you install Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Access.   All versions including 2010 are supported.

Software Maintenance

Our support aggreement requires access to your system to install updates and to assist you in any questions or problems you might encounter.  You can call 509-922-4280 or email angela@customdatasystems.net for questions or to report issues.

Sterling Database:

Sterling Software stores and retrieves your data to and from a Microsoft SQL Server database.  Tables are set up for each type of data.  Views and Stored Procedures are set up for queries and reporting.  All Microsoft SQL Databases are supported, including the newest Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and the Express Versions of 2005 and 2008.

Sterling Reports:

Over 200 reports written with Crystal Report Writer are delivered with the Sterling software.  A run time is also installed so that you don't have to purchase the report writer.  If you chose to purchase the report writer, you can modify the system reports or add more.

Sterling Scanning:

Sterling Scanning utilizes the technology already installed on your computer, and installed with your scanner.  When you scan from the Sterling scanning screens, a link between the scanned image, and the location of the file is copied to the Sterling database for easy storage, retrieval and printing.

Sterling Mapping:

Sterling Mapping is a truly live link GIS system.  Changes to the map is automatically seen by all users on the system.  When burials or ownership is changed, the map is automatically updated.  Unlike other GIS systems which merely create XY coordinates for your cemetery, Sterling maps are set up with each grave as a map object, which is linked to the property table in the Sterling Database.
